The Avengers

Rewatching this film more than a decade later has opened my eyes to the fact that this might be the best MCU piece (I've just watched Phases 1 and 2). Coming from the amazing foreshadowing in the previous movies, it makes this movie the real payoff of this first saga.
The film is far from flat when it comes to narrative and storytelling; every faction has its own secrets and interests, and the flow of events is rhythmic with perfect timing.
The issues come with internal logic and a lack of maturity in the realistic setting it wants to create; the movie is so juvenile at times, putting style over substance, and the tiring Marvel puns and jokes that are known, and the lack of consistency in the lore, and the unconciliatory fact that the film wants to ground in the real world and be global about it, forgetting politics, economic interest, and religious aspects from individual to global scale; the idea is nothing short of genius, but the worldbuilding is what drags the whole story back.
The movie loses its charm at the NYC battle; it is cartoonish at best and stupid at worst. The movie is not brave enough to face the individuals and just treats the catastrophe as a run-of-the-mill Independence Day scenario, which I loathe.
3D Version
This version is not good; the only salvageable parts are the computer-generated effects that last seconds. The whole 3D is bad, and I do not recommend watching this film in 3D. Even without the hundreds of errors I could see, this conversion is not deliberate and would be better watched flat.
