The classic is an epic story that really is not brave enough to tell things, and is just a theatrical butchered version tailored to Western audiences.
The salvageable aspects of the film come from the photography, directing, and OST, but do not compensate for the pacing, bland story, cheap, shallow characters, and misrepresentation of Arabian culture.
