Oz The Great And Powerful
8.2/10
3D Perspective
This spiritual and semi-canon prequel to the original 1939 musical is a charming adventure with an unfolding and interesting story with some weak elements.
CGI is a weka element of the film, but it was meant to be watched in 3D thus making it weird-looking and unbalanced in 2D where framing and blocking were specifically designed to work with 3D in mind.
Storywise, The character of Theodora is messy and rushed. At the same time, her sister had a lot of potential but in the end resulted in a solid and magical adventure where 3D became the new wonder like color did in the original film.
