This film is a slow introspective one and it is something easy to see.
I have a hypothesis that Tarkovsky extends their films in ways that go against the medium combined with the rule that a movie without sound could be understood at least the principles.
I think it is because Tarkovsky wanted to go beyond the medium and there is nothing wrong with that just that I am not very fond of stretched scenes that serve almost no purpose.
