The film is portrayed as a Grim, corrupted place and Bruce Wayne as a traumatized young adult, and is aimed with styled cinematography and a score just appropriate, which delivers an immersive depiction of the bat and is different from Joker (2019). The inspirations taken from this film were subtle and not as literal as it was for Todd's creation.
