The film has amazing cinematography, a total mastery of Mise-en-scène, along with amazing colors that yield amazing results. It is sad to say that the obnoxious soundtrack does not fit all the way in the film, feeling over-dramatized.
The performance is amazing, and the level of work put in by Arthur is admirable.
The drawback here is the plot that uses people's malice as is suitable to the narrative.
Taxi Driver & The of Comedy are its inspiration but it has so many elements and also has elements from Joaquin previous work: You were never really here, that said, the film does not offer something new nevertheless a excellent work and of course do not forget that it is Gotham and every reference is a sweet lollipop to a Batman Fan and that giver more Value to the film.
Last, the Film, supposedly aimed at a wide audience, has to shout to the viewer supposedly complicated things instead of telling them suddenly with a grain of cleverness, in a short phrase, the film sometimes treats you like a child.
